Block Lamp black cord

A sensation of ice and light, of heat and chill. Koskinen is probably best known for his Block Lamp, a lightbulb held inside two shaped pieces of clear glass, which is exhibited in MoMA in New York City.The Block lamp is designed by Harri Koskinen and became a design classic as soon as it was launched in 1996. Each part of the block lamp is hand cast and undergoes an extremely long cooling process to avoid cracking later on if exposed to strong temperature changes. The matte bulb shape is sand-blasted.

The Block lamp is still one of Design House Stockholm’s most popular products and it has been part of the MoMA since 2000. The Block Lamp has been showered with several design awards.

Aalto A330S Golden Bell

Aino and Alvar Aalto were commissioned in 1936 to design the interior of the Savoy Restaurant in Helsinki. Made from a single piece of brass, the elegant Golden Bell was a part of the restaurant’s interior. It was shown in the Finnish Pavilion of the Paris World Expo in 1937.

Leena wall lamp

The inventive Leena from Yki Nummi is a simple and practical wall lamp of two parts; an acrylic glare shade and a birch wood end board on which the shade is mounted. The stylized rectangular sections give the lamp its simple reduced form.

Innolux Leena is mounted on the wall by the end section. The end section is either on the left or the right side of the lamp as you choose, and that way the lamp can be mounted, for instance, on both sides of the bed. The lampshade is separated from the wall, and light is indirectly reflected into the room via the wall. We recommend using 7–10 W energy-saving lamps with these lamps.

Modern Art

The Modern Art lamp from Yki Nummi designed in 1955. Kuplat grey

Kuplat lamp from Yki Nummi designed in 1959. The name Kuplat means bubbles in Finnish. The lamp consists of two acrylic shades of different colours, one nesting inside the other, and is suited for many spaces. The white acrylic inner shade functions as a reflecting surface for the light and brightens the light passing through. The outer transparent acrylic shade comes in different colours. The lamp is available in smoke grey, transparent, purple, sand, red and orange.

Along with the original Kuplat lamp, the impressive Kuplat 480, with a diameter of 480 mm, has also been put into production. The two different sizes of the Kuplat lamp and their beautiful colours provide new options for spicing up interiors.
